Our Tree

Momma went out on a limb this year and we got a real tree and put it up inside the house. Last year we had a real tree and put it out in the front yard. We put lights on it and decorated it with ornaments for the animals enjoyment. The reason for getting a real tree is that friends of Momma's have a Girl Scout troop and the troop is raising money to go to Switzerland. One of their fund raisers is selling Christmas trees so Momma buys one to support the troop. You can take the girl out of scouts but not the scout out of a girl. This year we are trying inside the house. Between Eden and her tendency to dismantle all she can get her hands on, the cats wanting to play in the tree, and Leah's perpetual need to rearrange the ornaments I was not sure we could pull it off. So far, three days in, we are doing well. We did not put breakable ornaments on the tree so if Eden feels the need to dismantle all is well. The cats are excited because there is an upstairs source of water, and Leah is content to rearrange the ornaments on a regular basis. Also, the tree has not triggered Momma's asthma.

Leah and I decorated the tree while Eden was as school so that we could get it done without tripping over her. Leah chose our strands of blue lights and then the silver garland. Once the lights were on and the garland arranged Momma stepped back and let Leah decorate to her hearts content. Here she is with her masterpiece.

One final look at our tree.
